Design and Construction Management Services
We have worked as representatives for the owner performing design and construction management for small and large projects. We provide senior engineers to review geotechnical design submittals with the intent of developing meaningful and necessary comments related to the design methodology, adherence to standards and specification, and constructability with the goal of providing appropriate recommendations for the specific project needs and minimizing risk to the owner. Our services also include technical expertise in the form of implementing new policies (AASHTO and State DOT), developing standard specifications, and providing geotechnical forensic investigations and expert witness testimony.
As the nature of geotechnical subsurface characteristics is inherently variable, our role during construction is often providing guidance and consultation to the contractor for specific conditions that are encountered as they relate to geotechnical recommendations. We also review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and calculations as they relate to geotechnical items. If there are elements of the construction that utilize geotechnical testing (drilled shaft load and integrity testing, pile dynamic testing, anchor pullout testing), we provide specialty geotechnical construction inspection often in situations that require a licensed professional engineer or geologist. In both design and construction, we have provided emergency services for fast-paced projects that are often related to some type of failure (sinkholes, landslides, bridge closure) that necessitates immediate demand for practical and safe geotechnical remediation.
