STAFF GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

This staff-level engineering position is for the individual who will apply geotechnical engineering techniques, procedures, and principles to various civil engineering infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:- Works closely with Project Geotechnical Engineers to gain experience with various aspects of design;- Performs tasks related to soil mechanics, shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, earth structures, earth pressures, instrumentation, construction monitoring, and soil laboratory testing;- Completes design calculations using computer software programs; and,- As required provide support for field investigations. We do not provide compaction monitoring services.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- BS in Civil Engineering (MS with geotechnical focus preferred);- 0 to 5 years of experience;- Current EIT license or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire; - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; - Positive attitude and the ability to multi-task;- Strong work ethic and a desire for continual self-improvement; - Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment; - Effective time management and interpersonal skills; and, - Experience in the use of common computer software.
